Lisa & Darren- "The whole day was just perfect,
it was just what we wanted..."
Date: 7th of August 2010
Venue: A marquee in the grounds of the family home
Lisa and Darren met 10 years ago and, after chatting and swapping phone numbers the couple began dating and, a few years later, Darren made a romantic proposal at Lisa’s family villa in Majorca.
Lisa’s family all pitched in when it came to helping with the organisation of the wedding, “All the family did their bit but a special mention has to go to my auntie, Susan Haughey,” says Lisa. “I really don’t know what I would have done without her help, she was like our very own wedding planner! She was very hands on and made sure every box was ticked.”
The couple went for a classic white wedding but added a hint of sparkle to make it extra special, “Everything was white, from the girls’ dresses to the table decorations,” Lisa explains. “I wanted to add a touch of sparkle so Swarovski crystals were sewn onto the dresses and added to the favours too.”
Lisa and Darren’s day went perfectly and the couple had a wonderful time, “We just loved every minute of it” they told us. “From leaving the church and seeing everyone so happy, to having a great time at the marquee with friends and family. The first dance was really special as everything at that point just seemed perfect and we both knew the day was one we will never forget. The best bit of advice we got was to take time away from the reception and sit down and just watch everyone having a great time, this will always stay with you and it makes your day every bit worthwhile. We managed this just as everyone went inside from the decking, everybody had a smile on their face and we couldn’t believe it was all for us.”
The Bridesmaids...
Rather than using a contrasting colour for the
bridesmaids’ gowns, each of the girls wore a
gorgoeous white dress and sparkling tiara.
The Cake...
Lisa and Darren’s wedding cake was an
incredible centrepiece. The seven tier cake was
decorated in ruffles of white icing, sugar roses
and sparkling brooches.
The Flowers...
The flowers kept with the white theme, the
bridemsads carried long stem lillies with crystal
bands and Lisa held white lillies and roses.
Wow... that Dress!
Lisa went for the ultimate princess style gown
with a full ruffled skirt and glittering embelished
bodice. She completed her look with a beautiful
sparkling tiara and short diamond dropper
earrings.
