Stephanie & Barry- "When i tried the first dress on i
knew it was the one, it's beautiful..."
"
Date: 15th August, 2010
Venue: Carnbooth House Hotel
Stephanie and Barry met nine years ago when they were working together and tied the knot in August 2010 at the gorgeous Glasgow University chapel a year after Barry proposed on Valentine’s Day.
Stephanie tried on countless dresses during her quest for the perfect one but, as is a woman’s prerogative, she finally decided on the first one that she had seen saying, “When I tried the first dress on I knew it was the one, I love the detail on the bodice, it’s beautiful!”
Planning a wedding can be an extremely daunting task and there are countless things to be considered. It can be difficult to let go but it is very helpful to delegate a little of the responsibility to other people. Stephanie’s Aunt Hilda helped her with some of the organisation, “My aunt was an amazing help, she made sure everything was going to plan and looked after my baby daughter for me. We had more then 12 people staying at the house the night before the wedding so it all felt quite hectic but my Aunt made sure I was relaxed and calm.”
Stephanie and Barry were quite fortunate during their planning process as they didn’t experience any major pitfalls. “The only thing I found hard was making decisions,” Stephanie tells us. “I wanted everything to look very fresh and I used lots of sparkle and crystals but there is just so much choice out there! Choosing the wedding dress, the colour scheme and the flowers is so difficult. It’s great to have your family and friends around to help with the decision making.”
The Cake...
Stephanie and Barry chose an elegant five tier
cake iced entirely in white, adorned with white
ribbon and topped with a spray of sparkling
crystals.
The Flowers...
Stephanie selected bright pink roses for her
bouquet and added a touch of glamour by
attaching some glittering diamantes to the centres
of the flowers.
